Anders Bach (Pedersen) is a Danish musician, record producer and researcher. He is currently a Ph.D. fellow at the University of Copenhagen, and works with music in his studio in Amager, Copenhagen.

Anders currently composes music for the upcoming video roleplaying game Esoteric Ebb, tours with and produces music for the Danish artist Peter Sommer, and plays solo-shows as GNOM and in quadraphonic space on the Buchla Music Easel and on drums.

His latest contribution to the research field is the article “Music or Noise: Spotify’s Aesthetic Hegemony” written with Johan Lau Munkholm, published in the Danish journal K&K in December 2024. Anders’ next academic presentations will be at the Symposium on the platformization of music production at the University of Oslo and the XXIII IASPM Biennal conference at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris, respectively in May and July 2025.

As a prominent composer, producer and drummer on the Danish popular and experimental music scenes for the past 15 years, Anders has been focusing on a distinct mix of intense percussion, frenetic electronics and destroyed melodies throughout his career of album-making, touring and interdisciplinary work in installation and performance art. This has gained him national and international renown as an artist, performer and producer in both the experimental underground with the solo-project GNOM, the noise duo H E X, and on albums for SelvhenterSvin and Aar & Dag, as well as with popular music acts such as , Peter Sommer, and Sleep Party People. Further, he manages the record label Wetwear with long time collaborator Kristian Paulsen.

Anders is currently writing his dissertation at the University of Copenhagen on music genres on TikTok exploring interwoven aesthetic, economic and political situations conjoining in emergent platform music. His latest contribution to the field is the article “Music or Noise: Spotify’s Aesthetic Hegemony” written with Johan Lau Munkholm, published in the Danish journal K&K in December 2024. He has several other publications within the fields of electronic music, generative systems, internet aesthetics and politics, and he is interested in expanding the approaches to genre and style within musicology, cultural studies and platform studies.
